Dawn is a Gamilaroi woman with strong family connection to Weilwan Country, currently living on Awabakal Country. Dawn has a strong connection to Country and is a respected and trusted knowledge holder on Aboriginal histories, tradition, and practice.
Dawn’s expertise is engaging with local Aboriginal communities and is a sought-after advisor and advocator for Aboriginal communities into government departments and corporates to support and build capacity of Aboriginal communities.
Dawn has been working within her community for over 40 years in various positions from Post-Release programs, early youth intervention and flora, fauna, cultural and heritage management and protection.
Dawn’s goal has always been to advocate for space for the community in decision making processes and to ease the silences experienced by Aboriginal women.
