Nina Ross

Professional Learning Writer and Presenter

Nina Ross is a proud Aboriginal woman with connections to Anaiwan and Dunghutti lands while living and working on Wonnarua land. She is a mother, wife, artist, and teacher, always delving into her family history. She continues to explore her Aboriginality through her art, with each work strengthening her identity.

Nina is a High School Visual Arts educator with Fine Arts training at the Newcastle School of Art as well as being qualified with Education and Fine Arts Degrees from the University of Newcastle. She has recently completed TAFE studies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts. Her teaching experience spans 20 years and includes writing educational resources for NESA.

Nina has enjoyed various artistic ventures of her own including painting murals for local schools, commissioned artworks, professional photography and collaborative projects. She has presented at conferences and facilitated art workshops and participated in the Resurgence Weaving and Possum Skin Cloak projects with Mindaribba LALC and ‘Hunter Aboriginal Weavers’.
