I am a proud Kamilaroi (Quirindi) woman who resides on Awabakal land (Newcastle) and works with Speaking in Colour as the reservations coordinator.
I am privileged to be the mother of two young girls, who I am raising to be proud and strong Indigenous women, as a family we love Aboriginal dance and being active members of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community. We also enjoy being on country with our extended family groups and connecting with our ancestral lands.
I am passionate about learning and sharing culture with the community, Indigenous and non-Indigenous. I believe that building strong communities who understand Aboriginal perspectives and culture are key aspects of reconciliation. There are big changes happening with Indigenous practices becoming the norm in society and it is my privilege to be a part of that movement.
