I am a proud Aranda woman from Arrente nation at Alice Springs. Born on Eroa country in Sydney and raised on Awarbakal country. As a 2nd generation stolen child, I am learning about my culture through strong Aboriginal people.
I connected with Cherie many years ago during an Aboriginal meeting, discussing her opening an Aboriginal business teaching and supporting local community to learn more about their culture and connecting Aboriginal people.During this journey I learnt the steps in creating woven products, I supply Cherie with woven animals, also continue to connect with other Aboriginal and non Aboriginal people to share and teach knowledge passed on to me.
Newcastle has a thriving hub of people wanting to learn more about our local Aboriginal culture. I continue to support Cherie in her passion of teaching cultural knowledge, connecting people and their passion to Cherie and her Local Aboriginal business Speaking in Colour.
